PRIVACY — LAST REVISED 2026-08-12
WHAT WE COLLECT (AND DON'T)
The short version
This is a static site. There is no account, no login, no database of visitors, and no tracking of what you type. Your pricing calculator inputs and your audit CSVs stay in your browser and are never uploaded — the audit parses the file locally, in your tab.
1. What never leaves your device
- Calculator inputs and token counts.
- The usage CSV you drop into Audit My Month. It is parsed in the browser; we could not store it even if we wanted to.
- Any API keys or model names you enter in the calculator.
2. Optional analytics (opt-in by default off when flagged)
We run a dedicated, anonymous PostHog project hosted in the EU (eu.i.posthog.com) to know which pages and tools are used. It records page views and tool events — no personal data, no CSVs, no raw inputs.
You can opt out permanently for your browser by visiting ?tbx-optout=1 on any page, and opt back in with ?tbx-optin=1. We also use it to keep our own testing traffic out of the numbers.
3. The Burn Report newsletter
If you subscribe, your email is stored in a Cloudflare KV key to send you the board changes (2026-08-04 last update) — one email the day a model changes price, plus the occasional editorial. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe. We do not share the list and never sell it.
4. Hall of Shame submissions
Anonymous confessions are stored in KV purely so the counter is real. We strip anything identifying before anything becomes public.
5. Cloudflare edge
The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Standard edge logs and per-request IPs may be processed transiently for rate-limiting and abuse protection (we rate-limit newsletter signups and submissions), and Cloudflare applies its own privacy terms.
6. Who runs this
TokenBurn Index is an independent project run by Llorenç Ballester. No ads, no trackers beyond the optional analytics above, no data sold — ever. If you have a question, ask through the site or reach out via llorencballester.com.
Estimates, not invoices. Editorial commentary is not telemetry. Prices checked daily against public list prices — your negotiated rates may differ.
